Yesterday was a bit over whelming. I said from the first day that this was not going to be a vacation. Yesterday I was exhausted. This is a different world. I am fully immersed in this culture.
With that being said,  the family that I am staying with is amazing. The mom is a teacher and still going to school. Her two beautiful children are teaching me the creole language. The father is only home one or two days a week. He has to work "away" to have enough money for the family.
What I have learned so far is that the children are not that much different than children in the U.S.A. they enjoy games and playing. Homework is the bane of their existence. Every school, public and private, has uniforms, even the teachers. This young man is Cayo. He has become my shadow and he call me "The American Shano"
